On November 21, 2025, the professional conference on High-Quality Development in Polyol Industry, which was organized by CPUIA and implemented by CPCIA Polyol Committee, was grandly held in Quanzhou, Fujian. With the high-quality development of the polyol industry as its core, the conference brings together experts, domestic scientific research institutes, key enterprises, industry professionals, academics, and business representatives to discuss technological innovation, market trends, and future development to promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation.
Because of polyurethane's excellent performance and versatile use, it is an important new chemical material worldwide. As the core raw material of polyurethane, polyols' technological innovation directly promotes industrial upgrading, narrowing the development gap. Nowadays, the polyol industry faces some challenges, such as fluctuations in raw material prices, market structural shifts, iterative innovation, and technology convergence. However, the rapid development also presents new opportunities for product differentiation and green polyols. Looking back at the 14th five-year plan period, in China, the polyols production in 2024 increased by nearly 30% compared with 2020. The global polyols trade exports have surged to nearly 20% yoy in the first half of 2025, while the growth exceeds 50% for the emerging market.
At the conference, Lv Guohui, secretary-general of the China Polyurethane Industry Association, first delivered the opening speech. He underscored a fundamental truth that the polyurethane industry owes its very existence to the humble yet indispensable polyol. The Industry Association is a catalyst that will leverage the role of bridges and bonds to empower the resource integration and tech collaboration and help industry-university-research-application talent development. Mr. Lv also points out the highlights and mid- to long-term directions according to the Chinese 15th Five-Year Plan proposals, that we should set priorities for PU industrial policy, tech self-reliance, and sustainable, high-quality growth.
This conference feast not only packed with the latest interaction technology and experience, but also builds the industry consensus. Innovative Technology Leading the Future.
